Oil Painting Winter Barn

"Winter Barn"
Oil on Linen
16" X 20"

From a recent trip to Wyoming.  Yes, it was cold.  Never got above 30 degrees.  I wanted to convey the feeling of a cold day but warm sunshine on your face, warming you.

"Reed It! Oil Painting

"Reed It!"
Oil on Linen
20"X  16"
$950

I've been working on doing some painting from a different perspective.  I was pleased with how this turned out.  There are so many variations in the color of water in a small stream.  I wanted to put these variations in but have it be in the background as well.  The reeds were kinda fun to paint.

Stones and Thorns - Barrel Cactus

"Stones and Thorns"
Oil on Linen
18" X 14"
$750

I was curious to see if I could paint from a vertical angle and give the painting some dimension.  The angle of the light helped give this effect.

Sonoran Desert Painting

"Desert Companions"
Oil on Linen
12" X 9"
$325

This piece started as a study that I painted at the Lost Dog Wash in Scottsdale.  I finished the final painting as a Demo while I was at TheStore, the art gallery at Mesa Art Center.

I love the early morning light.  The day started out hot and by 9:00 am it was too hot to continue to paint outside.

"Dawn on the Polder"
Oil on Linen
9" X 12"

Painted from a plein air study in The Netherlands the summer of 2015.  The following photo was taken just after I finished the plein air study.  One of my favorite photos.  I call it, "....then the art critiques showed up."
